Marietta police investigators are taking a closer look at an incident that took place at a beauty supply center. An officer told reporters that police believe that the suspects use a vehicle to ram through the front of the store. While illegal entry and theft are common property crimes, this event seems to be particularly brazen by comparison.
There have been a recent rash of beauty supply robberies. On Tuesday July 30 burglars approached Joy Beauty Supply in nearby Smyrna. They drove through the front doors. This particular property crime resembles that case. Police have thus established a pattern.
Marietta police believe that after this crime was committed, suspects drove through the front of an LA Beauty Supply place located in town. The store is on Sandtown Road, according to officer reports. When then perpetrators burst through, they seemed to jump out of the car. They then stole several different types of hair weaves.
This actually resembles the crime in Smyrna, according to reporters. In that particular crime, the suspects had drove through the front doors during the early morning hours. They then took around $50,000 worth of hair extensions.
Additionally, thieves ended up crashing a truck through the front windows of another area store. Back on Tuesday they rammed through the facade of I Heart Hair. That particular store is located on Marietta Boulevard. This crime also resembles the same sort of pattern that the other two thefts do.
While these crimes might sound strange and unusual, it appears that they are following some sort of pattern. Investigators don't appear to have totally linked them yet, and at times additional suspects pop up in a case as a result of copycat crimes once something is released to the media. Nevertheless, these individual crimes do resemble one another, which means that it could very well be the same group of people committing them.
It's hard for stores to block something as large as motor vehicles of course. Therefore these robberies are often rather successful to say the very least about them.
